Beginning of Year: Even though we’re only a few days into our school year, the children are settling into the routines. We’ve accomplished quite a bit this week as we review/learn the rules of the classroom. There are 17 students in the morning. One student joins us for the afternoon in the K-1 program. There are 10 first graders and 7 second graders, 11 boys (with K-1) and 7 girls.
Birthday: Ilene turned 7 on Wednesday, August 26. Happy Birthday, Ilene!
Book Check-Out: I’ve already started the students on their classroom book checkout system. Only one book should be home at a time. I’m asking students to read at home one hour per week. This is important for continued growth in reading skills.
Email: If you would like me to send you this weekly note to your email address, please sign up with me at vcana@tcja.org. It will also come home in hardcopy in your child’s homework folder as usual.
