Grandparent Interview: I’m enclosing an interview I’d like the children to do with a grandparent or an elderly friend if a grandparent is not available. A phone interview will be fine if grandparents live far away. The interview should be returned by May 10.
Family Tree: The students will also be making a family tree. Please help them fill out that paper also. That information should be returned on May 10 as well. Thank you!
Baby Geese: Last Thursday we walked to the river to see the baby geese. It was a lovely day and good exercise for the children.
Teacher’s In-service: Friday, May 7, there will be no school. The teachers will be attending a local professional enrichment seminar.
Track & Field Day: Wednesday, May 12, is our scheduled track & field day at Edgar Brown Stadium in Pasco. More details will be coming, but some of you like to know about such events ahead of time so this is your early notice.
Hanford Health & Safety Expo: I’m planning to take the students to the Health & Safety Expo on Tuesday morning, May 18. I will need parents to go with us. If you are available let me know! More details to come after I check on the availability of the public bus.
Last Day of School: Friday, June 4. At staff meeting on Tuesday evening we finally established that we will have 180 days by Friday, June 4 and will not have to come to school on Monday, June 7. Thankfully we only missed one day of school because of snow and that day was built into the calendar. It just makes sense to end the year on a Friday rather than coming back for a half day on Monday! There will be clean-up in the classroom on that Friday as well as fun ASB games.
