Reading: I’m encouraging each student to check out a new book every day to take home and read in the evening. Please remind your student to return his/her book the next morning so another book can be checked out. When a student has read 50 books, he/she will receive a $5 gift certificate to Barnes & Noble.

Reading Calendar: Today you are receiving the September Calendar. Please record your student’s reading minutes for each day and turn it in at the end of the month.

Hot Lunch Calendar: Mrs. Shearer sends out a hot lunch calendar each month. Remember hot lunch is $3.00 per meal. The students need to sign up for lunch in the morning when entering the school.

Student Teacher: Some of you have not formally met our student teacher, Stacy Bennett. She is a senior elementary education major at Walla Walla University. She will be working in our classroom until the middle of December. It is an honor to be able to provide a place for her to gain experience. We benefit from having her help and enthusiasm.

Labor Day: Remember there is no school on Monday, September 6, as we celebrate the Labor Day holiday. Have a great weekend with your family.
