Visitation Day: Monday, April 5, will be TCJA’s visitation day for students in PreK through Grade 2. The morning will be filled with schoolwork and some fun activities. If you know a student who would like to come visit, please call Mrs. Hibbs at 547-8092. Our classroom will be a busy one with all the Kindergarteners joining us for the morning.

Community Service: Next Tuesday afternoon, April 6, please send work gloves with your student. We are going to spend some time picking up rocks in the area around the new Children’s Center. There will be no rock throwing, just gathering them in a big pile so the new lawn can be planted.

Student led Week of Prayer: The week of April 19 thru 23 will be out student led Week of Prayer. The 1st & 2nd grade class will be in charge on Tuesday, April 20. If you have time you might want to stay and listen. The children will be singing their two scripture chapters—Psalm 91 and I Corinthians 13 as well as giving the Jonah poem, leading general singing, having opening and closing prayer.

Parent-Teacher Conferences: Note the conference schedule included in today’s homework folder. If your student is not bringing one home, perhaps an older sibling has it. If not, check in the office with Mrs. Hibbs. I’ll look forward to meeting with you next week on Wednesday or Thursday afternoon.

Reading Calendars: Remember to turn in your March reading calendar. This will be the last pizza certificate but not the last reading calendar. Keep up the reading. There will be something special for those who turn in 240 minutes for April and May!

Pants with holes: As the school year is moving toward spring I’ve noticed more students with holes in the knees of their pants. It especially becomes a problem when a student starts tearing at the hole and making their pants really look ratty. Thank you for keeping those pants for play clothes or cutoffs for summer!

Upcoming Events: March 18—Interactive Art Night 5:30-7:00 Thursday evening. Come enjoy doing art!
March 22-26—Spring Break

Spring Break: I know some of you are traveling this break. Please don’t forget the reading! There’s only a few days after we return until the end of MARCH. The Book-It program ends on March 31. All reading calendars need to be returned on April 1. Thank you.

I’ve enclosed the poem about Jonah, A Really Tight Spot. Please have your child work at memorizing it. We are going to be saying it for a Week of Prayer meeting the third week of April.

Enjoy the break with your children!

New Book: Our new Pathways book for this month is entitled The Gardner. We have read only half the book so far but are enjoying it. The children are learning to “read” the pictures as well as the writing on each page.

Writing: On Wednesday we were writing about the beautiful weather. Caleb wrote: “Today is blue, sunny, shiny, and beautiful. Faith wrote: “Today is a pretty day in every way.”
