Happy Birthday Emilee: Emilee turned 8 this week. Unfortunately she was not able to be at school on her birthday, February 1, so we will celebrate her big day later.

Math: This week we are beginning our unit on counting money. Give your student change to count. The 1st graders focus on pennies, nickels, & dimes. 2nd graders add quarters to the mix this week. Later they will be adding half dollars and dollars.

Valentine’s Day Party: There will be a party on the afternoon of February 14. My rule for the day is that if a student brings cards, there must be one for everyone.
